The American Pole League is run by a passionate group of people from all around the country. On this page we are introducing you to the people who make all the magic happen!

Meet the Team – the faces behind the screen!

Polina Volchek – CEO/President

Polina Volchek, also known as Pink Puma, is the 4x World Pole Sports and Artistic Pole Champion for team USA, multiple winner and prize holder of National and international competitions, ex-soloist of Cirque du Soleil, a holder of «Lifetime Achievement» award by the International Pole Sports Federation in 2018 and producer of international pole & aerial project «Vertical.Show».

Originally from Moscow Russia, Ms. Volchek resides in the United States since 2004. She has professional producer's education and over 25 years of experience in sports, dance, performance and martial arts. At the age of 17, she gained the title of «Master of Sports in International Level» in group rhythmic gymnastics. In August 2011, she integrated her performance, competitive and organizational skills, dedicating her craft to Pole & Aerial Sports.

Polina is the founder and the leader of «American Pole League». Her main goals are to achieve the highest results for athletes through health and safe training programs and competitions, to promote Pole & Aerial Sports as Olympic disciplines.

Tanya Christopher – Director of Operations

Tanya was a competitive dancer and tumbler since the age of 4. She taught dance in over 20 daycares and was also a contracted professional choreographer for over 10 years, then found pole around 2007.

In 2011 as her passion for pole grew and after training as an instructor for 4 years, Tanya decided to make take the leap of opening her own studio. «Amorous Dance & Pole Fitness» is now going on 10 years of strong, successful business, and even opened a second location! Tanya herself is riding the momentum, continuing to dedicate her life to the positive promotion of pole sports by developing a studio certification program, called ADPAF Certification, training future pole sport athletes with her «Vertical Kidz» program, and teaching workshops around the country.

Tanya is «American Pole League» Director of Operations. She oversees our plans, procedures, and helps to develop fundraising and other revenues necessary to support our mission. When you compete at an APL competition, Tanya will also be the woman announcing your name over the loudspeaker as she also emcees!

Rori Chacon – Vice President/Director of Marketing

Rori lives in the American Southwest with her hubby & 2 kids – a daughter, 11 (who actually started pole before she did, at age 7!), and a son, age 13. ⠀

Although she only started pole around 3 years ago, she immediately fell in love. Rori is an X-pert certified instructor at «Kinetic Arts Tucson», a certified IPSF coach, and in her spare time she writes a pole blog, www.celestialbodiespole.com.

When she’s not training, teaching, or obsessing over pole, she’s working in one of her 2 food trucks, creating fun graphics on her iPad, or teaching swim lessons. ⠀⠀

Rori is APL Vice President & Director of Marketing. If you reach out to us on social media, chances are it’s her who will be responding.

Katie Ottley – Travel concierge

Katie developed a love of dance as a teenager after reading about the life and career of the famed dancer, Martha Graham. Her love of dance transformed into a passion for performing as she danced with a local troupe as a young adult. In 2010, Katie took her dance experience into the fitness industry as a cardio dance instructor and certified personal trainer. Katie spent the next several years helping people improve their strength and overall fitness level leading group fitness and cardio dance classes. In 2014, Katie discovered a form of fitness which allowed her to combine her passion for dance and performance with her love of fitness – Pole! Today, she continues to train, coach and choreograph at her home studio of «Kinetic Arts Tucson». Katie is excited to share her passion and knowledge with the wonderful athletes of the «American Pole League». ⠀ Katie is our APL Travel Concierge. She works behind the scenes securing the very best hotels, venues, restaurants & other accommodations for our athletes who are traveling in from out of town. If you have need any assistance in booking your trip, or suggestions on places to go or things to do while you’re here, Katie’s your girl!

Svetlana Ghetman – Merchandise director

Jennifer Balow – Honored Team member

Jennifer Balow is the «Associate Director of the E&M Division for The Coding Network» and is managing approximately 300 coders and hundreds of clients across the United States. She has worked in healthcare for 27 years and became a pole enthusiast in 2015, when her daughter, World Pole Sports Champion 2016 and multiple prize holder – Paige Olson, started taking pole classes for strength training. Jenifer holds the «IPSF Level 1 Code of Points Certificate» and is passionate about assisting any way she can to promote pole as an athletic discipline and to be part of the movement to get pole recognized nationally and internationally.
